Our Favourites

A section in which we will tell you about our favourite experiences and activities, everything from restaurants and cafes to  days out and walks -whatever we have enjoyed.

The puffins are in at Bempton Cliffs so a trip will have to be planned. Will probably link this to a visit to Filey for a walk on the beach.

Still like to visit Leoni's in Malton for coffee-Simon has won numerous barista awards and ,like us, uses Cooper's coffee-another fantastic Yorkshire company.

We love Francis Tea Rooms in South Street Scarborough-up on the South Cliff behind the Crown Spa Hotel. It is an old barbers and has little screened booths for just a couple of tables each-the food is homemade and very very good with proper tea room service. We usually combine it with a visit to the South Strret Gallery directly opposite where much of the artwork in 17 Burgate comes from.

Another favourite trip out is to poke about the Old Town in Bridlington-good art galleries and some very interesting shops. The whole place has a bohemian feel to it and upgrading of properties is slowly taking place. Good walk along the coast from the north of Bridlington up to Sewerby Park and beyond. Get the tides right and you can walk right back along the beach into Bridlington itself.

We love Spice4U in Pickering-it is the only place in town we use regularly.

In recent times have had good pizza and pasta at Florios in both Malton and Scarborough.

Anvil at Sawdon still our favourite gastropub and it had a fab review recently in Yorkshire Post
