Chill out
17 has been designed for relaxing. Savour a bottle of chilled Chablis or house cocktail, in the court yard with its perfume of summer flowers and day long sun, or lounge on the patio – close your eyes and listen to the church bells and whistle of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train. Alternatively enjoy a glass of vintage armagnac or a local beer, within the depths of a soft leather sofa in the lounge bar in front of the log burning stove.
The well stocked bar runs on an honesty basis, when we are not around, and a stay at 17 has fulfilled many a budding barmans dream.
We serve tea and cakes to residents each afternoon from 4.30 p.m. but a glass of wine or something from the bar is an often chosen alternative.
Feeling peckish? Sample our all day ploughmans - cheese or pate. Choose where you eat – your room or the bar and select a wine to match from our list.
We chose to develop a town house concept in Pickering because of the wide range of restaurants, pubs and cafes available not only in the town but within a short drive. Whether you want Michelin stars, AA rossettes, award winning country pubs and bistros, fantastic fish and chips, a traditional afternoon tea or simple meal with local produce we have it all.
